Women in the Arts Symposium

This year's event will be held on Thursday, April 7 from 5-7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

This year’s Symposium is inspired by contemporary artist Kirsten Stolle’s sculptural piece, 'Deconstructing Janson', 2019. Having removed all of the male artists and works, Stolle’s piece leaves the traditional Art History textbook a shadow of its former self: more empty space than book, it barely stands. This year, the symposium is dedicated to stepping into that space, allowing all definitions of women to make themselves and their work seen and heard.

You can see Stolle’s work, a compelling visual with great impact,  on her website https://www.kirstenstolle.com/new-page
