Join HOLA as we honor Black History Month with "With Love, Black History"—a celebration of the rich and often overlooked Hispanic heritage of Black individuals. This special event will take place on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Williams Center Room 2015.

As a Hispanic-led initiative, HOLA recognizes the importance of learning about and uplifting African American culture. This event is an opportunity not only to educate attendees but also for our members to deepen their own understanding of Black history and its connections to Hispanic heritage. Through an engaging poster board presentation highlighting Black Hispanic countries, we will explore the cultural impact and contributions of Afro-Latinos.

Attendees will also have the chance to spread love and kindness by creating Valentine’s Day cards for hospice and nursing home residents—a heartfelt way to give back to the community. And of course, no celebration is complete without food! Enjoy Fresas con Crema while engaging in meaningful discussions and connections.

This event is hosted in collaboration with CSA, BSA, SWV, and MOVE, bringing together diverse voices to celebrate the intersection of Black and Hispanic identities.
