Visiting Artist Talk - Carolyn Jean Martin - Revealing Spaces Between: Destructive Creative Acts
Carolyn Jean Martin is an internationally exhibited artist, writer, and educator based in San Francisco, California. Her artistic practice combines installation art, painting, and sculpture to explore how identity is constructed and understood within the social lenses of nationality, ethnicity and race, and how these are sustained and/or transformed through the movements of immigration and diaspora. Martin will talk about her art and writing, and the roles of art and the politics of race in contemporary society.
