University Weather Closure
University weather announcement:
The safety of our University community is our top priority. Based on the latest weather forecasts for Hurricane Michael, Georgia Southern leadership has made the decision to cancel classes and all activities for Georgia Southern University’s Statesboro, Armstrong and Liberty campuses on Wednesday, October 10 and Thursday, October 11. Only essential personnel should report to work.
Residence halls will remain open. Housing staff and Public Safety officers will be on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses at all times. Students are encouraged to shelter in place and avoid unnecessary travel.
Please continue to monitor the weather for any changes and please be advised that the National Weather Service may send out wireless alerts to cell phones in the watch and warning areas for severe weather and tornadoes. Always heed the instructions of local emergency officials and recommendations from the National Weather Service.
