DESCRIPTION:The Georgia Southern University trumpet studio will be performi
 ng a concert with internationally acclaimed trumpet player\, Valentin Garv
 ie\, This concert using only trumpets\, will feature many pieces from the 
 standard trumpet literature\, arranged for trumpet ensemble\, as well as a
 \nmedley of Gershwin songs\, arranged specifically for this ensemble by Ro
 bert Elkjer.\n\nThe 15 member GSU Trumpet Ensemble\, under the direction o
 f Dr. Tim Kintzinger\, was accepted to compete in the 2022 International T
 rumpet Competition Large Collegiate Ensemble division. They placed 5th in 
 May 2022 at the IWBC brass ensemble competition in Denton\, Texas.\n\nThe 
 ensemble is scheduled to complete a two-week tour of Germany in May\, 2023
 .
