The Georgia Southern University trumpet studio will be performing a concert with internationally acclaimed trumpet player, Valentin Garvie, This concert using only trumpets, will feature many pieces from the standard trumpet literature, arranged for trumpet ensemble, as well as a
medley of Gershwin songs, arranged specifically for this ensemble by Robert Elkjer.

The 15 member GSU Trumpet Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Tim Kintzinger, was accepted to compete in the 2022 International Trumpet Competition Large Collegiate Ensemble division. They placed 5th in May 2022 at the IWBC brass ensemble competition in Denton, Texas.

The ensemble is scheduled to complete a two-week tour of Germany in May, 2023.
