Teaching Online: Tips from Summer 2020

BADGE: Evidence-Based Teaching

Facilitator: Heidi Eisenreich, Assistant Professor, Mathematical Sciences and Dr. Lauren Barbeau, Faculty Developer, Center for Teaching Excellence

Participation in the Teaching Online Certificate course through CTE this summer encouraged me to reflect on how I set up my courses online. Being asked to teach online after having taught only face-to-face for years was daunting for me, so I started creating a list of “lessons learned” or “tips for future online courses” to make my next online course a better learning experience for students. I will share these tips, identify different tools I used in the online environment, and leave time for question and answer so you can provide some of your ideas with us as well.
