Lifting property of differential graded modules

          Speaker:  Dr. Saeed Nasseh

           GSU Statesboro Campus

Abstract

Lifting property of modules is a fundamental question in commutative ring theory, which is related to deformation theory and has important applications in the theory of maximal Cohen-Macaulay approximations. This notion was studied intensively by Auslander, Ding, and Solberg for modules and by Yoshino for complexes. In this talk, I will survey recent developments on the lifting property for differential graded modules and describe the relation between this notion and the long-standing Auslander-Reiten conjecture.

About speaker

Saeed Nasseh, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Georgia Southern University. In 2013-2014, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His research is on commutative algebra, homological algebra, and related areas. A major part of his current research focuses on developing and applying differential graded (DG) homological techniques (from rational homotopy theory) to completely or partially solve problems on the vanishing of homology and cohomology over commutative rings.
