Quarantine & Connect is a drop-in workshop for GS students currently in quarantine or isolation because they have COVID-19 or have come in contact with someone who has tested positive. It can be stressful to be quarantined while still trying to attend classes and keep up with class work. This workshop will help you connect to others and provide tips on how to cope during this time.
The workshops will rotate between three topics:

Focus on the Present – People who are sick or not able to be in their normal routine commonly focus on the future and just want to be better. They think about what they are missing or how they may be falling behind. They want to get back in their routine now. This workshop will help you be mindful in the moment and focus on what you can do in the present to take care of yourself.

Managing Emotions – Being in quarantine can cause many different feelings, including anxiety and/or depression. Recognizing these feelings is the first step to managing them, owning them and moving through them. This workshop will help you figure out what you are feeling and how to best manage the boredom, loneliness and frustration of being in quarantine.

Visualize a Healthy You – Don’t underestimate the power of visualization. Studies have shown that when we visualize an action it stimulates the same regions of our brain as when we actually perform that action. This workshop will help you learn how to use visualization to relax, get back in a good routine, and feel stronger/healthier again.
