About this Event
11935 Abercorn Street, Savannah, GA 31419
The Wexford Lecture Series presents its first speaker, Jonathan Culleton, professor of Sociology and Criminal Justice at Waterford Institute of Technology. He is also the Chairman of the Post-Prison Social Integration Charity, and director for the Cultural Competence in the Prison Irish National Training Corrections Officers programme, Ireland.
Jewish Ireland offers a unique vantage point to explore memory and the complexity of instituing memorials. This lecture focuses on one of Ireland's often marginalized communities as a touchstone for examining collective national memory, and interrogates how collective remembering and collective forgetting privilege some narratives over others.
