Please join us for this semester's Poverty Simulation sponsored and organized by the College of Behavioral & Social Sciences and the College of Education! This event will be held in the Nessmith-Lane Conference Center Ballroom on Friday, February 7 at Noon. Student/Participant Registration Form.

Each semester (alternating campuses), we organize this event to expand our community's thinking about poverty and its stress on individuals and families living in poverty. Each participant is assigned a role (e.g. race, age, family, single person, child) and real-life circumstances (e.g. homeowner, unhoused, employed, medical). Volunteers are assigned a community role (e.g. landlord, police officer, employer, social services, teacher, pawnbroker). The simulation is based on Georgia's poverty rates and other relevant statistics.
