Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is an innovative approach to higher learning, involving partnerships between higher ed institutions around the world to link students and classrooms. Curricula are co-designed and co-taught by teachers in various disciplines. These courses expose students to multicultural experiences and diverse perspectives in various subjects. Increased opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration also benefit teachers and staff.
