Intellectual Encounters: Hurricane & Recovery

The second seasonal partnership between The Learning Center and Georgia Southern Alumni brings Georgia Southern University faculty together with an engaged audience to reveal in stark relief the delicate Georgia coastline and its fragile ecosystem’s vulnerability to hurricanes. Dr. Kathryn Craven, marine biologist and co-founder of the Terrapin Educational Research Program of Savannah (TERPS), and Dr. Heather Joesting, whose expertise lies in coastal sand dunes and associated flora, team up for this presentation on environmental recovery after devastating hurricanes and tropical storms. Provost Karl Reiber, a marine biologist, will act as emcee.

You may order a boxed lunch or just enjoy the program. (Boxed lunches are $8. The deadline to order one is September 4.)
