CRI offers swim lessons and clinics for Georgia Southern students, faculty, and staff RAC members. We offer three class options: non-swimmer, swimmer, and advanced. All classes are supervised by American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors. All classes last 45 minutes.

Non-swimmer – for those needing basic swimming skills. You’ll learn to be comfortable in the water, float on your front and back, how to transition from a horizontal position to a vertical position, and basic arm strokes and kicking techniques.

Swimmer – for those comfortable in water where they can touch and would like more help. You’ll learn the freestyle (front crawl), backstroke, and breaststroke. Additionally, you will work on staying afloat in water where you can not touch, breathing techniques, and diving abilities.

Advanced Clinics – for those looking to refine their strokes for a better workout or a competition. You’ll learn proper swimming techniques in order to be more efficient in the water. Class will focus on freestyle (front crawl), backstroke, breaststroke and sidestroke. Butterfly stroke and flip turns can be taught if desired.

Register at the RAC Member Services counter. CRI offers a FREE preview day to experience the instruction you will receive and to determine which class level you should enroll in.
