Do you want your words in print? For your perspective to be heard? The new Department of English would like your help in creating a slogan that represents our community. This slogan would speak not only to current students, but would also be used in promotional materials to attract those who might be interested in English as a scholarly pursuit and career. 

We are looking for 2 to 6 words that represent our field’s essence, so consider economy of language and the power of brevity. Think Nike's "Just Do It," but for English majors—creative writers, composition, professional writing, and literature—and give us your best. What would make you want to join the Department of English?

Finalists will be announced on February 6, and voting is from Feb. 6- 10. The winner will be announced at the Sean Greer event on February 20 and on our social media platforms. The contest winner will be honored at the Celebrations of Success in April with a mystery prize!
