Reception and Artist Talk: February 13, 5-6:30 p.m.
Crystal Ann Brown's creative practice is informed by her multifaceted identity as an interdiscipilinary artist/mother/curator/academic, through which she strives to reveal the underappreciated aspects of mothering, caregiving, and everyday life using textiles, sculpture, time-based media, social practice, and drawing. Brown has an MFA in sculpture and expanded practice from Ohio University School of Art, and is the founder and director of The Hown’s Den: A Nomadic + Domestic Exhibition Space, through which she works to bring a holistic experience of contemporary art and domestic life to her community. She has shown her work nationally and internationally.
This Exhibition, Equilibrium Disorder by Crystal Ann Brown, is presented with financial assistance from the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History and the National Endowment for the Arts with approval from the West Virginia Commission on the Arts.
