Children's Book Drive hosted by Student Council for Exceptional Children
During the month of September, the Student Council for Exceptional Children (SCEC) is collecting children's books (K-12) to donate to children in foster care in Bulloch County.
"SCEC came up with the idea of a book drive because we know how important reading is for child development," said SCEC President Kahli Crews. "While volunteering with students in the community over the summer, we saw first hand how much reading means to a lot of these students because it is their escape. We are striving to serve all exceptional children no matter the circumstance."
SCEC is accepting new or gently used books, for all ages / grades (K - 12), non-fiction and fiction. Books can be placed in the donation box located in the lobby of the College of Education classroom building. Individuals can also make donations to purcahse books via Venmo to @Ashley-Lee-233, vice president of SCEC.
