Books Build Bridges

Georgia Southern University Counselor Education students and members of the Chi Sigma Iota Academic Honor Society are hosting an event on Thursday, December 5th from 12:00-3:00pm in the atrium of Henderson Library on Statesboro Campus called "Books Build Bridges." The purpose of the event is detailed in the following words from the students:

Through this event we will provide a space where the history of book burning, its meaning, and its impact are acknowledged. This space will also be used to discuss how books by diverse authors have built bridges and established connections between people. Resources will be provided for our fellow students, as well as an opportunity for them to artistically express their reactions to October 9th. We will show up ready to do the work of letting our fellow students know that their pain is seen and heard.
