Benefits and Wellness Fair
The Department of Human Resources will be hosting its annual Benefits and Wellness Fair on Monday, October 14, 2019, on the Statesboro campus at the Nessmith-Lane Center and Tuesday, October 15, 2019, on the Armstrong campus at the Armstrong Center. This drop-in event for Faculty and Staff will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. There will be door prizes and give-aways! Look for the Human Resources table to enter for door prizes.

Over forty (40) vendors, such as AirEvac Lifeteam, Anthem, Delta Dental, EyeMed, MetLife, TRS, and more, will be at the Fair, along with several campus departments and many local medical offices and businesses.
We will also have free wellness screenings available to ALL employees, including blood pressure checks, chiropractic spinal screenings, skin cancer screenings and various others. These screenings may vary at each campus.
East Georgia Regional Medical Center will have a provider at the Statesboro event who will offer free hernia screenings. If you are interested in the hernia screening, please stop by East Georgia Regional Medical Center’s table at the Fair for more information. A separate room will be available for the hernia screening.
Employees covered under a USG health plan may schedule a free, confidential onsite health screening to check in on a few key health measures. You’ll get results for your blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and more.

Sponsored by CORE Credit Union. Starting at 10:30 a.m., first 360 employees on the Statesboro campus and the first 180 employees on the Armstrong campus may receive a free 4-inch sub, chips and drink.
The first 400 employees on the Statesboro campus and the first 150 employees on the Armstrong campus to complete and submit the HR vendor card will receive a t-shirt. To claim the t-shirt, employees will have to visit a specific number of vendors listed on their vendor card and then submit the card to the HR table.
CVS is sponsoring a flu vaccination clinic from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at each campus. Flu shots are free for employees covered under a USG plan, upon presentation of their health insurance card. CVS will also file claims with other insurance vendors.
OPERATION MEDICATION DROP
Also at the Fair this year, is the Operation Medication Drop sponsored by Georgia Southern University Public Safety. THE FIRST 25 PEOPLE TO DROP OFF ITEMS WILL RECEIVE A PRIZE!! Items that can be dropped off include any unused or unwanted prescription or non-prescription medications, OTC medications, creams, ointments, lotions and inhalers, as well as pet medications.
Items that CAN NOT be accepted include sharps, needles, lancets, syringes, medical waste products (such as used IV bags, bandages, gowns, or bio-hazard waste materials), and no products containing mercury or cadmium (including thermometers and hearing aids).
