Ben Tollefson is a Savannah-based artist to uses oil paint, that most traditional of mediums, to depict a meticulously-wrought homoerotic surrealism. Playing with and subverting both social, artistic, and pictorial codes with equal intensity, Tollefson's work applies a highly photorealistic touch to imagery that is difficult to conceive even while looking right at it.
