Artist Talk: Michael Velliquette - Power Seeker Exhibition

Power Seeker is a survey of cut paper sculptures by the artist Michael Velliquette. Working exclusively with hand-cut heavyweight paper card stock, Velliquette constructs visually and structurally complex forms that reference masks and other forms of ritually driven object making.

Velliquette's work has been shown at venues such as the DCKT Contemporary, NYC; David Shelton Gallery, Houston; La Montagne Gallery, Boston; Deitch Projects, NYC; Morgan Lehman Gallery, NYC; Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro, NC; Shelburne Museum, Shelburne, VT; Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, Madison, WI; San Antonio Museum of Art, Texas; and the Museum of Arts and Design, New York, NY.
