COBA Hosts Emory University’s Professor of Economics on Debt and the U.S. Economy

The College of Business Administration’s Finance and Economics department will host Dr. Kaiji Chen, professor of economics at Emory University, as he speaks on Debt and the U.S. Economy, Friday Nov. 9.

In his lecture, Dr. Chen will examine the implications of policy proposals by the Congressional Budget Office and the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform on the future path of the budget deficit and debt in the U.S. economy. Dr. Chenʹs work on the macroeconomic implications of financial contracts, business cycles, social security, and consumption and savings has appeared in the following journals:

• American Economic Review
• Journal of Monetary Economics
• Review of Economic Dynamics
• Economic Theory

Dr. Chen has also served as a Visiting Fellow at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
