COE Research Retreat
The College of Education Research Committee invites you to its annual COE Research Retreat. This year we are pleased to have Dr. Jeremy Zelkowski from the University of Alabama as our guest speaker. He will talk about large database research in his presentation entitled Making use of large-scale federal data sets: Secondary data analysis for policy and practice.
The session will focus on existing federal data sets (completed and on-going), research methodology concerns, on-campus research needs, and funding opportunities. Many early career faculty or new lines of research require down-time as data is collected. These existing data sets can allow researchers to inform their on-going research while providing rich data to conduct policy and practice studies as new
In addition, we will have a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Showcase offered by Beth Downs and Todd Tinker. The retreat will end by providing faculty with time and opportunity to share their experiences using technology in their research.
This event will take place on the morning of Friday, April 21st. We will end the sessions with enough time for people to attend the COE Picnic that starts at 11:30 am.
